SUMMARY

Briercrest College invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the field of Applied Linguistics/TESOL, commencing August 1, 2024.

The BA in Applied Linguistics: TESOL trains students for service as English language teachers around the world and ranks as one of the most extensive undergraduate TESOL programs in North America. The program is recognized at the highest level for undergraduate training by the national professional body, TESL Canada.

The successful candidate will be a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher excited about a move into university-level English language teacher training in the context of Christian liberal arts higher education. Candidates must possess a Master’s degree either in ELT, TEFL, TESOL, or Applied Linguistics (with a focus on ELT) and have substantial experience teaching English to adult English language learners. In addition to excellence in teaching, candidates will be able to demonstrate a commitment to research and to service to the church. The successful candidate will be expected to begin doctoral studies in TESOL or a closely related field within three years of taking up the appointment.
