Girls win to rivals Ambrose in a big victory
The Women’s Basketball team came out with a win on Friday night against their rivals the Ambrose Lions, the score being 73-64.
Off the jump ball the two teams went back and forth against each other, this continued to be the case for the rest of the quarter finishing off with a Briercrest 18-17 lead.
Starting off the second quarter the Clippers and Lions were resilient to each other and the game would not slip away from either team. At the end of the quarter the Briercrest finished off on top with a score of 36-31. Briercrest’s #3 Victoria Voth was a key player at this point with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the team.
Starting off the second half of the game was all Briercrest, pulling together a 10-2 run into the start of the third quarter. This momentum showed for the rest of the quarter ending the third quarter with a score of 53-41.
In the last quarter the Lions looked to pick their up their game, but failed to do so, falling further behind Briercrest, ending the game off with Briercrest winning 73-64.
Player of the game for the Clippers was #7 Amber Tilcox with 16 points, 3 assists and 10 rebounds.
Reflecting on game, captain #3 Victoria Voth said, “It was overall a good game coming back from Christmas, it took us a little bit to get going but once we got into it the game we were flowing a lot better and I am looking forward to the rest of the semester and playing Old’s next looking forward to that challenge!”
