For those interested in pursuing a Leadership Certification, the application and admission requirements follow the same protocolas applications toany other seminary program with the exception of Briercrest Seminary graduates.
Please note: You can take up to two courses before making an official application to the Seminary.
Applicants with an undergraduate or graduate degree
The admission requirements for students with a previously acquired undergraduate or graduate degree include:
- Possession of an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited academic institution with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Undergraduate or graduate degrees earned at an unaccredited institution will be reviewed and assessed on a case by case basis.
- Evidence of a living and active faith in Jesus Christ.
- Commitment to live by the Seminary Student Life Covenant.
Upon completion of a Leadership Certification, students who wish to pursue a graduate degree can transfer the 15 credit hour certification into the Briercrest Seminary MA Leadership & Management program.
Applicants without an undergraduate degree
The admission requirements for applicants who do not possess an undergraduate or graduate degree include:
- Demonstration of bachelor's equivalency: 90 or more credit hours of undergraduate work completed from accredited institution(s).
- Evidence of a living and active faith in Jesus Christ.
- Commitment to live by the Seminary Student Life Covenant.
Upon completion of a Leadership Certification, students without an undergraduate degree who wish to pursue the Briercrest Seminary MA Leadership & Management program must first transfer and complete a Certificate of the Seminary program.
Once completed, both the 15 credit hour Leadership Certification and the Certificate of the Seminary can be transferred into the MA Leadership & Management program.
Please note: No more than 15 per cent of the total number of students in a given program can be accepted as "non-degree students." In the event that the 15 per cent limit is reached, the applicant will be informed and placed on a waiting list.
Admission requirements for Briercrest Seminary graduates
Briercrest Seminary graduates who have graduated within the last two years do not need to re-apply. Those graduates may simply contact the Centre for Leadership Studies and then register for the necessary Leadership Certification classes.
Briercrest Seminary Graduates who graduated more than two years ago will need to complete a revised Outcomes Assessment form for the Leadership Certification and provide one Pastoral Reference form affirming the student’s current spiritual life journey.
